2012

The idea that started it all

Founders Jef Van Hyfte and Koen Mortelmans had known each other long before Mobile Locker existed. After several successful collaborations on marketing projects, they wanted to start their own company together. All they needed was a good idea. That idea came during Jef’s holiday in Spain, when his girlfriend wished she had a safe place to store her belongings at the beach. That’s where it all started, with one single locker unit on the Spanish coast.

2014

From concept to reality

Vandalism-proof, solar-powered, cashless payment, and even smartphone charging. The first Mobile Locker prototype already featured several innovative functions. In 2014, the very first locker was installed on a Spanish beach in the presence of local media. Since then, both the software and hardware have continuously evolved, though the distinctive blue-yellow-orange look has remained the same.

2015

Foundation and first expansion

And then things moved fast. In 2015, Mobile Locker placed its first lockers at Belgian festivals. Today, you’ll find us at nearly every major Belgian and several international festivals. Beyond events, Mobile Locker has also grown into the leading reference in the locker market, both nationally and internationally.

2020

Growth and global reach

Following a €2.4 million investment, Mobile Locker expanded to more than 500,000 users across three continents and nine countries. The company broadened its product portfolio and entered new markets, including airports and public spaces.

2025
